Cars & Beers at Junkyard on 66 Brewery

Cars and Beers

As we traveled west on I40 (near old Route 66) just west of Albuquerque New Mexico and you’ll find just about nothing other than a beautiful scenery. This is where things took a turn.

As we travel, we like to look for off the wall unique places or experiences. After all that’s why we have decided to RV full-time. We don’t want to speed past breathtaking views and amazing experience…Right?

So, Heather found this place called Junkyard on 66 Brewery on a membership site called Harvest Host. This is a site that provides locations where you can stay the night at no charge. These places seem to be businesses of varying types but, if you go there, you have no obligation to buy anything from them.

AND… here is what we found! Junkyard on 66 Brewery in Grants, New Mexico. We saw great reviews on this place and decided to see what it was all about.

I was a bit hesitant as the description said this place was not only a brewery that brews its own craft beer, and BBQ joint but is also an active junkyard. When we heard it was an active junkyard, we thought we had to experience this!

Check out some pics of this place 👇🏻

We were not let down! Junkyard on 66 Brewery has the coolest laid-back vibe. When you walk into the brewery/restaurant you’re greeted by a gutted old truck (which is pretty awesome) and once you get past that, there is a large room with old cars as décor.

It’s not just décor but rather this place was a service station at some point, and it feels like it still is. You have car parts, manuals, and tables made of car doors and seats that are old car seats.

If you’re ever on I40, regardless of the direction you travel you need to make a pit stop and visit Junkyard on 66 Brewery, even if you don’t drink, it’s worth your time. Plus, it’s veteran owned (we’re a bit biased and will support any fellow veteran).
